This is one of two sealed-in-the-box Mil-J-7823 G-1 Flight Jackets, dated 2-57, Size 46, made by Cagleco Sportswear we obtained years ago. We opened one of the boxes to make sure the contents were as described. That jacket was sold to a LOST WORLDS customer. This one has remained sealed and provides a very rare example of how jackets were packed and shipped by contractors. Below is 7823B contract dating from 1960, indicating both changes and retained features. Note: Leather, Goatskin, Chrome-Tanned refers to an existing Federal specification and as continuation of an existent spec., is not further described in the 7823B contract. This of course is yet but another confirmation how military flight jackets were actually tanned.
